Proiectul isi propune:
• Sa dezvolte in cele 6 judete din Romania, la nivelul dispensarelor TB o retea de suport formata din voluntari (selectati din personalul medical al Dispensarelor TB) si experti medicali (coordonatori de voluntari). Reteaua va acorda suport social si DOT suport pentru pacientii cu TB tratati in ambulator in dispensarele TB.
• Sa asigure pentru 2000 de pacienti cu TB tratati in ambulator in dispensarele TB din judetele Neamt, Arges, Maramures, Constanta, Dolj si Municipiul Bucuresti DOT suport si suport social sub forma de tichete sociale in vederea cresterii aderentei la tratament si asigurarii succesului terapeutic.
Scurta justificare
In 2013, Romania raporta 12860 cazuri noi de tuberculoza, 3851 cazuri de reluare a tratamentului si 1136 decese, avand cea mai mare incidenta de cazuri TB din Uniunea Europeana / Spatiul Economic European.
TB afecteaza in mod negativ cele mai vulnerabile segmente ale populatiei. In Romania, cea mai mare parte a populatiei afectate este in risc de saracie sau apartine unui grup vulnerabil cum ar fi persoanele fara adapost, consumatorii de droguri injectabile (populatie afectata tot mai mult in ultimii ani si de infectia HIV, hepatita B si C) sau populatia rurala a tarii care are acces limitat la serviciile de sanatate.

• Pana la finalul proiectului 2000 de pacientii cu TB tratati in ambulator in dispensarele TB primesc suport social si DOT suport pentru cresterea aderentei la tratament
